Build a transfer shortlist from a six-gameweek fixture run
Turn six gameweeks of fixtures into two or three names you can defend: an easy run, a nailed starter, a real share of the chances.

A good run of fixtures is only worth something if you own the right players for it. This chapter turns six gameweeks of fixtures into two or three names you can defend: players at a club with a genuinely easy run, who will start, and who get the chances when they do.
On 26 October 2026, ahead of gameweek 9, the process pointed at Bournemouth. Their run was not the easiest on average, but it had no bad weeks, and three of their attackers were already in the top 15 for gameweek 9. The ratings are refitted every morning, so your list will differ.
Which clubs have the easiest run?
Open Premier League fixture difficulty and choose 6 GWs. Then pick the view for the player you want:
- For attackers rates how easily each team should score. Use it for forwards and midfielders.
- For defenders rates how likely each team is to keep a clean sheet. Use it for defenders and goalkeepers.
Leave the sort on Difficulty, so the easiest runs come first. The whole grid is free. Fixture difficulty explains the 1 to 5 scale.
Is the run as easy as its average?
The sort uses each club's average, and an average hides bad weeks. On 26 October, For attackers over gameweeks 9 to 14 put three clubs at the top:
| Team | GW9 | GW10 | GW11 | GW12 | GW13 | GW14 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manchester City | BHA (H) 1.1 | NFO (A) 1.9 | FUL (H) 1.1 | ARS (A) 3.3 | LEE (H) 1.1 | BRE (A) 1.8 |
| Bournemouth | LEE (H) 1.6 | IPS (A) 1.6 | NFO (H) 1.6 | FUL (A) 2.8 | BHA (H) 1.6 | HUL (H) 1.3 |
| Manchester United | CHE (A) 2.8 | AVL (H) 1.5 | LIV (A) 3.2 | BRE (H) 1.4 | NEW (A) 2.1 | COV (H) 1.2 |
Three similar averages, three different runs:
- Manchester City have the easiest weeks, with one hard trip to Arsenal in the middle.
- Bournemouth are steady: nothing worse than 2.8, and five weeks at 1.6 or better.
- Manchester United face Chelsea and Liverpool away early, then ease off. Bought now, they cost you two hard weeks first.
The chips above the grid flag runs that change. That day, they read Turns easier · GW12 for Manchester United and Turns harder · GW12 for Manchester City. If you are buying for a later gameweek, that changes the answer.
Check the fixture count too. A blank gameweek shows as a dash, and a double gameweek stacks two fixtures in one cell. The average is per fixture, so a double does not lift a club up the table, but its players get two chances to score.
Keep three or four clubs.
Who at those clubs will get the points?
Open the Fixture Run Finder and choose Attacking or Defensive to match. Type a club into Search player or team to see only its players. On a phone, search sits under Filters.
The default sort, Projected, ranks players by expected goal involvements over the window, or by clean sheets on Defensive. Kindest run and Form are the other sorts.
Without Pro, the board covers the next gameweek and shows the top 15 players in full. With Pro, Next widens the window to 2, 3 or 5 gameweeks. On 26 October, Evanilson, Rayan and Tavernier were all in the free top 15 for gameweek 9. Three attackers from one club in the top 15 says the club's chances are real, not a quirk of the rating.
Will they actually play?
An easy run is worth nothing to a player on the bench. Select a row to open the breakdown:
- Minutes is how long the model expects them to play.
- His share is how much of the team's threat ends with them.
- Penalties shows whether they take them.
Turn on Hide unavailable to drop players who are suspended or projected under 15 minutes. Keep Hide low confidence off: a flagged player may still be the right pick, but needs a closer look. The link at the foot of the breakdown opens the player's page, where Matches shows whether they started recent games.
Which one is best?
Put the survivors into player comparison, up to five at once, from Search players to compare.... Compare players who would fill the same slot in your team. Compare players explains each row.
An easy run is a better chance, not a promise. A forward facing the weakest defence can still blank, and a rotated player can miss the run. Pick the player whose case rests on more than one thing: fixtures, minutes and a real share of the chances.
Keep the list
Open each player you want and choose Add to watchlist in the page header, then pick or create a list in Save to watchlist. You need to be signed in. A free account holds three watchlists of up to ten players; Pro raises both limits. Your lists appear under Watchlists on the Premier League overview. You cannot save from the Run Finder or the comparison page.
Check the list again the day after each gameweek, when the ratings refit. Drop anyone who lost their place, and look past the six weeks with 8 GWs before you commit.
