The best FBref alternative
for football analytics
FBref's advanced stats were shut down in January 2026. xG Stat picks up where they left off, with xG, xA, xT, shot maps, pass networks, player comparison, and AI-powered match intelligence, all in one place.
Why fans are switching to xG Stat
FBref was the gold standard for free football stats. With the advanced-data feed permanently removed, thousands of fans, analysts, and fantasy managers need a new home. Here's why xG Stat fits.
Advanced metrics
xG, xA, xT, xGOT, progressive carries, key passes, pressures, and per-90 stats across every Premier League player.
Visual analysis
Shot maps, pass networks, xG timelines, radar charts, and tactical breakdowns. Not just tables of numbers.
Comparison tools
Compare any players side by side with percentile rankings, scatter plots, and custom metric axes.
AI match intelligence
Pre-match previews and post-match narratives that explain what the data means in plain English.
See what FBref users are missing
Live from a real Premier League match. Interactive on the product pages, these are the views that replace (and go beyond) FBref's match reports.
Shot maps
Every chance plotted by location and xG weight. Big markers near the box are the shots that actually decide matches.

Common questions from FBref users
Do you have per-90 stats?
Yes. Every player stat in the Player Database has a per-90 toggle. Filter by minimum minutes, position, team, and sort by any metric.
Where are the percentile rankings?
Player profiles include percentile rankings across attacking, passing, defending, and possession metrics, displayed as bar charts against the rest of the league.
Can I compare two players side by side?
Yes. The comparison tool lets you place any two players on a radar chart, stat table, or scatter plot with custom axes.
What about team-level data?
Every team has a full tactical profile: formations, pass networks, attacking patterns, defensive shape, and set piece analysis.
Is the data from Opta or StatsBomb?
xG Stat is built on independent professional event data, the same kind top clubs buy. xG values may differ slightly from Opta-based sources like the official FPL, but season-level trends agree and the underlying event data (passes, shots, pressures) is comprehensive.
Do you cover leagues beyond the Premier League?
Currently Premier League only. Multi-league expansion is planned once the product reaches break-even.
