How do I use xG to pick FPL transfers?

Accepted Answer

Target players whose goals lag their xG: they are creating chances without the returns, and are often better value than their form suggests. Players scoring well above xG are candidates to regress. Expected goals measures the quality of a chance as the probability that a shot of that type is scored, so a shot worth 0.5 xG should be scored about half the time.
